2026 SEASONAL INTERNS

1ST YEAR INTERN
Architecture
GRANT SCHAEFFER
Grant Schaeffer is a Project Design Intern on the Architecture Team based in the Minot office and is currently pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis and a mathematics minor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. As a Division 1 student-athlete on the Nebraska Swim Team and also the team captain, Grant has developed strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. He has obtained hands-on experience as a Lab Apprentice in the structural lab and has spent the last 5 years as a life guard and swim lesson instructor. Grant is passionate about developing positive relationships along with striving for progress through innovation.
Fun fact: Grant is a fan of Dot’s pretzels and enjoys staying active—if he’s not working, there’s a good chance he’s swimming, cycling, or catching a game.

2ND YEAR INTERN

ashley machipisa
Ashley Machipisa is a sophomore at UND with plans to major in Civil Engineering. He has done past experimenting and training on AI Large Language Models, like Microsoft Pilot. He spent some time in the energy industry also and is very grateful for the opportunity to come back again this summer to work with the Construction Engineering team in our Williston, ND office.
FUN FACT: Ashley enjoys playing soccer because it’s the only time “running for no reason” is considered a sport and encouraged.

1ST YEAR INTERN

JACK LOARD
Jack Loard graduated from Minot High School and is currently continuing his education at North Dakota State University, where he is entering his second-year as a Civil Engineering student. During high school, Jack was actively engaged in a wide range of extracurricular activities that highlight both his musical ability and hands-on interests, like trap shooting. Beyond school-sponsored activities, Jack also co-founded and served as the lead guitarist for the local Minot band “Legion of Sound” Jack will be interning in our Minot office, working on construction sites in the area.
FUN FACT: Jack enjoys working on old cars—if it has an engine and needs some attention, he may want to get his hands on it.

4TH YEAR INTERN

LANDEN SNELLINGS
Returning as a 4th year intern on the Traffic/Transportation team in Fargo, ND. Landen is a senior at UND and will be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in May of 2027. Landen will experience office life this summer as he transitions from field work to design.
FUN FACT: Spending a few years with our resident Construction Manager in Williston has kept Landen on his toes. He's learned a lot and gained valuable experience close to home.

1ST YEAR INTERN

PEYTON OPP
Peyton Opp is a 2026 Minot North High School graduate and he spent the last three years on the varsity tennis team, which is one of his favorite hobbies and sports. He has also worked at Home Depot for the past three years and will attend North Dakota State University this fall to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. He will spend the summer interning out of our Minot office with our Construction Engineering team.
FUN FACT: Peyton is a big fan of Dot’s pretzels—there’s a good chance he’ll have a bag nearby, and he may or may not be willing to share.

1ST YEAR INTERN

KYLEE COOPER
Kylee Cooper graduated high school in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, began her post-secondary education in the Engineering program at University of Saskatchewan, after one year she transferred to Minot State University. At MSU, she spent a year in Radiology studies and is transitioning into Innovation Engineering in the fall. Kylee has been employed at the MSU Wellness Center, while attending MSU. She will work this summer in our Minot office part of the Construction Engineering team.
FUN FACT: Kylee claims she picked up crocheting for a hobby, but there’s a growing suspicion she may be building a tower of potholders.

2ND YEAR INTERN

CONOR ODAHLEN
Minot native, Conor Odahlen is attending University of North Dakota and is heading into his sophomore year. He is returning for his 2nd year to work with Construction Engineering out of our Minot office. Conor spent a summer gaining experience as a Survey Tech with Ackerman Surveying.
FUN FACT: Conor was previously active in tennis, baseball and basketball. As an intern, he may not get a lot of time for those activities, but we’re sure he will have a ball, nonetheless!

2ND YEAR INTERN

ETHAN MATHEWS
Ethan Mathews joins our seasonal team for the second year as a Construction Specialist Intern in the Minot office. Ethan spent some time at Minot State University and is now pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at UND.
FUN FACT: We've agreed to fuel Ethan's affinity for Mountain Dew this summer, but we draw the line on Funyuns. Regardless, he will have plenty of caffeinated FUN at AE!

1ST YEAR INTERN

tyler hammer
Tyler Hammer is entering his sophomore year at North Dakota State University, pursuing a B.S. in Construction Management with a minor in Business. He has experience with fabrication, equipment operation, and fieldwork, and has experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In the past he has done a great job balancing demanding work schedules with academic commitments. He will be in the field with our Construction Engineering team in the Minot area.
FUN FACT: Tyler spends his free time fixing-up projects like four-wheelers and snowmobiles—if it’s broken, he’s likely already figuring out how to get it running again.

2ND YEAR INTERN

SETH HUUS
Seth Huus is a Minot, ND native and attends NDSU. He joins our Minot team as a Construction Specialist Intern and is focused on municipal engineering projects.
FUN FACT: Seth is an award-winning carpenter through a program he was part of in high school so we know he loves to build! Seems like the perfect time to now learn to design!

2ND YEAR INTERN
Environmental & Water Resource Engineering
SETH ROEDOCKER
Joining our team as Environmental Engineering Intern, Seth previously worked closely with our Water Resources Department in our Minot, ND office during his initial internship. This year, Seth will be located in our Fargo, ND office. Seth graduated with an Associates degree from Bismarck State College, spent a year at Minot State University and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering from NDSU with an anticipated graduation of May of 2027.
FUN FACT: Is it an enchilada, a taco, or a burrito that suits his fancy? Be sure to ask Seth if you see him. We're guessing all three from his favorite restaurant in Minot, Mi Mexico!

1ST YEAR INTERN

austin seeley
Austin Seeley is an intern in our Boise, Idaho office is attending Boise State University, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He worked last summer in landscaping and property maintenance. Austin has been actively involved in campus and community activities. He played on the Boise State men’s lacrosse team for a couple of years, was a high school lacrosse coach, and is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Outside of work and school, he enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, and sporting clays.
FUN FACT: Austin enjoys a balanced diet of “engineer fuel,” 40% Chex Mix, 40% sunflower seeds, and 20% Reese’s—adjustments based on field conditions and snack availability.
