Souris Valley Animal Shelter fills a much needed role in the region surrounding Minot – it can be very difficult to fill that role if the building housing it cannot meet even it’s most basic needs. To that end, SVAS has embarked on a $3 million campaign to add on and fully renovate their current facility. Intended to bring the building in line with modern animal shelter practices and standards, the revitalized facility would include an isolated addition for kenneling of dogs with an indoor exercise area featuring canine-friendly turf. Feline counterparts will be housed on the opposite end of the facility in a newly renovated space that will be open and interactive. Between the two will be a central intake and veterinary area. The new finishes throughout will maintain cleanability and sanitizing best-practices as well as provided much needed sound isolation for animal comfort.
