TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION

Ackerman-Estvold's Traffic and Transportation Engineers aim to design and construct facilities that ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

Transportation Engineering includes the design and construction of all transportation corridors, including roads and rail lines. Services in this discipline include traffic studies, project concept reporting, corridor sizing and configuration, recommend materials and thickness of paving, and environmental assessments and evaluations.

The Traffic Engineering aspect refers to all the amenities that drivers see and use to guide them through the corridors. Services include traffic operations study, parking needs analysis, parking design, geometrics of roadway which includes determining lane widths, assignments, and specific lane needs, signals, signage, pavement markings, and lighting.

MUNICIPAL

Ackerman-Estvold has a solid history of serving as Engineer of Record for numerous municipalities throughout our region.

MUNICIPAL

Many small communities and political subdivisions cannot justify the services of a full-time engineer as a part of their personnel. These communities have turned to Ackerman-Estvold to serve as their trusted consultant and advisor. Assisting in a wide range of projects from land planning to stormwater management, and from ordinance writing to creating construction documents for public improvements, Ackerman-Estvold provides communities with the backing of the entire organization, not just that of a single engineer. With aging infrastructure and expanding development, communities need services like ours now more than ever to ensure sustainable and responsible improvements are made and that they are in the best interest of the community and their residents. Our priority is to serve as an advocate for our cities helping foster growth and viable improvements in a manner that serves the greater good.

In addition to our primary role as Civil Engineers and Architects, we can also assist communities and political subdivisions in a variety of other areas including communications, graphic design, and financial planning.

WATER RESOURCES

Our professional water resource engineers have stayed on the forefront of advances in technology and utilize the most current and powerful software to analyze and design water management systems that can provide realistic, cost-conscious alternatives for your project. We offer engineering services in water treatment, hydrology, and hydraulics.

We provide assistance in dealing with regulatory compliance issues, water source development, water and wastewater treatment, water storage and distribution systems, and wastewater collection and pumping systems. In addition, our hydrologists can assist you with all of your stormwater management needs, from existing system optimization to new system design to floodplain mapping and management. Our staff is dedicated to finding a solution that is tailored to meet your specific needs.

OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE

Properly functioning water and sewer utilities are critical to our lives. By default, many utility owners have limited experience and knowledge in the operating and maintaining of these facilities. Our utility operations and maintenance group will help you through technical concerns in these ever-changing regulatory times. Dealing with issues as they arise is only one element of a successful operations and maintenance plan.
