City of Karlsruhe, North Dakota, Water Treatment Plant - 2009
As City Engineer for the City of Karlsruhe, Ackerman-Estvold was responsible for the design of a 50 gpm iron-manganese-arsenic removal water treatment plant.
The plant consists of a pressure filter complete with reaction vessels, a two-stage adsorptive media filtration system, chemical feed systems, pumps, flow meters, piping, valves and electrical controls; high service pumps and associated valves, piping and accessories; a 1,584 square foot wood-framed, steel sided structure with a cast-in-place concrete foundation and floor; heating, ventilation, plumbing and lighting; above ground water storage tanks; upgrades to an existing water supply well; sitework; underground utilities; and other miscellaneous facilities and items necessary for the construction of a fully operational water treatment plant.
