Mohall Main Street / ND Highway 5 Reconstruction

Mohall Main Street
The Ackerman-Estvold project team was selected by the North Dakota Department of Transportation to perform preliminary engineering services for the reconstruction of Mohall Main Street / ND Highway 5.

The purpose of this project is to improve safety for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, to provide a new and improved roadway lighting system, to provide improved pedestrian facilities, and to preserve ND Highway 5 as a principal transportation artery in north central ND. Current deficiencies include roadway cracking, poor drainage, a poor lighting system, and less than optimal sidewalks and pedestrian facilities; in addition, parking, the four-way stop on Main Street, and traffic control needed addressing.

Preliminary engineering tasks include a field review, solicitation of views, a public input meeting, wetland delineation, environmental documentation, drafting a Project Concept Report, holding a public hearing and completing its related documentation and meetings, and both an aerial and ground survey.

This project will include storm sewer, curb/gutter, hot bituminous paving, sidewalks, driveways, and lighting. As Mohall City Engineer, Ackerman-Estvold is also currently performing construction engineering for water and sewer improvements that are constructed concurrently with the Main Street reconstruction project.
