20th Avenue Southeast Reconstruction & Realignment

20th Avenue SE Reconstruction
Ackerman-Estvold was selected by the City of Minot to perform preliminary, design, and construction engineering for this combined Urban Roads / Regional Federal Aid reconstruction and realignment project along 20th Avenue Southeast from 2nd Street SE to 13th Street SE. The 20th Avenue Southeast corridor project is the second phase of the City's 20th Avenue South reconstruction project begun in 1997; this phase of the project was delayed until a decision could be made regarding improvements at the US 2 & 52 Bypass intersection with 13th Street Southeast.

This 5-lane urban section roadway reconstruction project involves a large number of issues important to the City of Minot, adjacent businesses, property owners, and the general public; issues include roadway grade, design speed, traffic operations, right-of-way, traffic and pedestrian safety. The Ackerman-Estvold / Ackerman Surveying team successfully managed these issues throughout each phase of project development and is responsible for construction engineering and contract administration during construction. Construction challenges will include maintenance of high volume traffic throughout the corridor and maintenance of business access along 20th Avenue.
