City of Kenmare Water Distribution System Improvements

Kenmare Water Transmission Line
As City Engineer, Ackerman-Estvold is working with the City of Kenmare on improvements to its water distribution system. The City of Kenmare does not currently have a dedicated water treatment facility and is being mandated by the ND Department of Health and the EPA to implement a solution to provide the residents of the City with water that meets the National Primary Drinking Water Standards, namely the Arsenic Rule. Ackerman-Estvold's preliminary engineering report recommended that the City of Kenmare construct the necessary facilities to accommodate and purchase water from Northwest Area Water Supply (NAWS). In order to accommodate water service via NAWS, the City of Kenmare will be required to expand its infrastructure.

The City of Kenmare Water Distribution System Improvements expansion includes the following projects:

Phase I: Water Transmission Line from NAWS transmission line to the City's water distribution system.

Phase II: Booster Pump Station to deliver NAWS water to an elevated storage tank(construction during 2010)

Phase III: Water Tank
