Ackerman-Estvold recognized as a top place to work by N.D. Young Professionals
Minot-based Ackerman-Estvold Engineering was recently recognized by the North Dakota Young Professionals (NDYP) as a top place to work in North Dakota.
The Top Place to Work designation is a runner up category for NDYP's Best Place to Work award. This is the second year NDYP has recognized North Dakota businesses for their innovation and creativity in attracting and retaining young professionals.
Ryan Ackerman, Project Manager with Ackerman-Estvold and a local young professional, says it's the unwritten, informal aspects of the firm that make it a top place to work. "As a smaller firm, every employee - regardless of the position - understands the expectation and responsibility to get the job done right and work as a team. New employees jump into real projects the moment they walk in the door, and our employee-centric environment is very conducive to young professionals with families."
Ackerman also points out that the firm is a strong supporter of young professionals in many ways. "Eight out of 10 staff members are involved in the Minot Young Professionals organization. In addition, Ackerman-Estvold is a huge proponent of working with interns and hiring young people coming back to the Minot area."
All organizations considered for the award were judged on qualifications including company benefits, advancement opportunities, and why they are an outstanding place for young professionals to work. A statewide committee of four Young Professional judges sifted through the nominees, determining the winner, as well as five runners up in the Best Place to Work category.
